The original guitar was a traditional looking guitar equipped with a tremolo and finished in sapphire blue on flamed maple with a flamed maple fingerboard, black hardware and tung-oiled neck. To honor Jason Becker, Carvin decided to recreate his DC200. Despite all this, Jason is still alive and going strong - he continuous to make music via a computer and communicating with his eyes using a system that his father developed for him. However, his blooming career as a guitar player was stopped because he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - ALS) and was given only 3 to 5 years to live. Things were going great and he was even signed to be the lead guitarist for David Lee Roth.
